The Hot Girl Guide | Get Up Everyday and Look Hot
In a recent podcast episode, I’ve touched on how I’ve noticed more and more people putting minimal effort into their appearance lately. While I mentioned it briefly before, I wanted to dedicate this mini-rant blog post to express my frustration with this new 'no effort to look good' trend. My blog has always emphasized the importance of embodying the inner qualities of a bougie woman, but let’s be real—your appearance plays a huge role in fully personifying that mindset. Taking time and care to diligently maintain your appearance consists of embracing the idea that we are meant to care for our bodies and present our best selves in every aspect. No matter the time or investment required, being disciplined about looking your hottest, most polished self should always be a priority. Now, let’s dive into this topic further.
Section I: Defining ‘Hot’.
I’ve always admired women who are, by definition, "hot"—the ones who wear skimpy skirts, apply an excessive amount of makeup, and have way too much hairspray in their hair. The type of women who take multiple breaks throughout the day to retouch their lip gloss or comb through their long locks. Society might label them as vain, superficial, or even "airheaded," but to me, these women are cool, aspirational, and undeniably hot. My first true example of a hot girl was the 00s’ video vixens. If you’ve followed me for a while, you know I started my Tumblr blog with the sole purpose of obsessing over these icons. But what exactly fueled this appeal? Sure, their makeup was flawlessly applied, their bodies were incredible, and their extensions were perfectly blended. But it went beyond the aesthetics—it was the hot girl persona they embodied.
Video vixens embodied the ultimate cool girl— that girl in school who always looked amazing and knew how to use her beauty to her advantage. She had all the guys chasing her, yet she remained completely unfazed by the attention. When you saw these vixens in music videos, they commanded your focus so much that you’d forget the video was even for the artist—your eyes were glued to her, not him. Video vixens at the time of the 00s’ were considered the muses of urban culture, they were unattainable to many, they seemed unreal and they truly had that hot aura we are discussing. All in all, I have to use them as my inspiration for this post and how we should all aim to embody our inner 00s video vixen not just occasionally, but every single day.

Find Your Hot Girl Muse.
Every woman should have a few hot girl icons who they look up to; women whose appearance inspires them. Maybe it's the way they do their makeup or the glamorous way they dress that you want to embody in your own life. For me, my top three will always be Pamela Anderson (90s era), Jill Marie Jones (Girlfriends era), Lilly Ghalichi, and Kim Kardashian (2010s era)—ultra-feminine, glamorous women who you could never imagine looking anything less than flawless. Of course, they likely had their off days, but that’s the definition of a muse—they represent the ideal version you aspire to embody. These muses of mine are women who I think of on an everyday basis and who inspire me to consistently keep up my appearance.
I don’t know about you, but seeing beautiful women motivates me to keep looking my best. It’s human nature to be drawn to attractive things, and often, our admiration for someone’s beauty reflects our own desire to maintain a certain standard for ourselves. Whether your muse is a celebrity, that girl at work who always looks flawless, or a content creator on TikTok sharing her maintenance routine, it's helpful to have a collection of inspiring women to motivate you as you go on your own hot girl journey.
Let’s Talk Maintenance Routines.
I know we’re all used to seeing girls online drop thousands on monthly maintenance routines, but let me tell you—it’s never that serious. Looking good is an investment, but it doesn’t have to break the bank. The most put-together women I know figure out what works for them and stick with it. For example, a Russian manicure, a pedicure, and a biweekly blowout might be the extent of their beauty maintenance. It’s about knowing what’s actually needed, not overwhelming yourself with ten-step regimens on beauty treatments that are not necessary.
Figure out the beauty routines that genuinely require professional help or that you simply don't enjoy doing yourself, and build from there. For example, hair is something I have no interest in doing, so booking a hairstylist and getting my hair done every two weeks is non-negotiable. If nails aren’t your thing, then biweekly trips to the nail salon might be essential for you. The goal is to prioritize what makes you feel put together without adding unnecessary stress. Once you identify those must-haves, it’s easier to create a consistent routine that fits your lifestyle and keeps you looking your best.
Always Dress for the Occasion.
I mentioned this briefly in a podcast episode, but people just don’t dress up anymore. You see women wearing flip-flops at clubs, activewear at five-star restaurants, and jeans at work. While it’s fine if others want to dress down, that shouldn’t influence you to do the same. As much as people might act surprised or even criticize the girl who always dresses up, there’s often a hidden layer of envy—they wish they had the same dedication to looking look for every occasion. I'd rather be overdressed than underdressed, and honestly, that should be the mindset for all of us.
Many people like to save their nice things, but you buy them to be worn. So why not wear your designer perfume and a full face of makeup every day? What’s stopping you from wearing heels daily, even if they give you a few blisters—who cares? You'll stand out in a sea of people wearing sneakers. If you're going on a date, dress up. Heading to a networking event? Dress up. Even at the gym, wear the nicest activewear set you can find. Always choose glam over plain—every occasion is an opportunity to look your best.
What’s Your ‘Hot Girl’ Signature Outfit?
Hotness is heavily influenced by the clothes you wear. I’m not going to be cliché and say it’s all about what’s on the inside (though that’s partly true), but the right outfit, and confidence, can instantly elevate your appeal. For example, a bandage bodycon dress scores way more hotness points than a loose-fitting dress that does nothing for your frame. The key is figuring out which clothing pieces highlight your best assets. My personal rule of thumb: mid-rise jeans, mini dresses, high-heels (sorry, let’s ditch the low platform shoes), and blouses with a flattering V-neck cut.
Every woman should have a feature they feel proud of—whether it’s their shapely legs, their bust, or their shoulders. Identify yours and make it a habit to wear clothing that highlights it every day. Since it’s something you’re naturally confident about, wearing form-fitted pencil skirts that accentuate your hips, for example, can give you a boost of self-assurance at work.
Pro Tip: Don’t confuse hotness with being provocative. The goal isn’t to try too hard with your outfits. If you’re wearing a low-cut V-neck top, balance it out with a longer skirt rather than an ultra-short mini. The 2010s bombshell fashion analysis is a perfect style guide to follow.
Upkeep, Don’t Slip Up.
Being hot is a lifestyle. You can’t just apply lip gloss once and expect to fully embody it. Maintaining this "hot" lifestyle takes real dedication and commitment, and while many shy away from it because of the effort involved, the truly hot girls know it’s worth it in the long run. It’s worth having people stop in their tracks to get a good look at you because it’s visually apparent that you take care of yourself from head to toe. When people take the time to look good—whether that includes maintaining a fit body frame, diligently applying their makeup every day, or making sure their outfit is nicely coordinated—it shows discipline. It makes you stand out. It lets anyone you come in contact with respect you and respect should be something all women strive for.
Here’s the thing: In life, there are plenty of obstacles we can’t control. However, one thing we have control over is our physical appearance. We can decide how we want our bodies to look. We can choose how we want to dress. We can take time before leaving for school to do our hair and make sure it looks neat. Our appearance is entirely in our hands, and if you don’t take the time and effort to maintain yourself daily, that’s on you. Being on point every day sets a standard that people associate with you, and you want to upkeep that standard.
This is why having a consistent maintenance routine and mental checklist before leaving the house is non-negotiable. Make sure your hair is in place, your nails are done, and your outfit makes sense for where you’re headed. Is your perfume applied? Are your shoes polished? Is your purse packed with what you need? These little things make a difference. The goal is to eliminate any last-minute stress by preparing ahead of time, so by the time you step out the door, you feel confident, in control and most importantly, you look good.
We’re Doing this for Her, Not Him.
There’s a common misconception that women who maintain their appearance, wear revealing clothes, or embrace the “hot” label do so for the attention of men. While some women may put in effort solely to attract men, if that’s your mindset, your intentions are off. The goal of looking good should always be to feel good about yourself. Look good to inspire other women, so they see you as a muse for their own self-care journey. The purpose is not to impress a man who likely isn’t even putting in half the effort you are to take care of himself!
Women often underestimate the impact that looking good can have on others. A little girl might pass by, mesmerized by how flawless you appear, inspiring her to aspire to look like you when she grows up. Or perhaps a coworker, who had given up on caring about her appearance, finds renewed motivation to dress well every day after seeing how consistently beautiful you look going to work. Your effort can spark inspiration in unexpected ways. We don’t put the time, energy, and money towards looking good for him. Men never notice. We do it for ourselves!
In Conclusion…
I thoroughly enjoyed putting this post together! Be sure to stay tuned for an upcoming podcast episode where we’ll dive deeper into maintaining your look. In the meantime, I hope this mini-guide serves as a valuable source of inspiration on your hot girl journey ;)
